Acne consultations requiring prescription treatment by the Physician Assistant are $50 (we do not accept insurance). We do not prescribe Accutane or other forms of Oral Isotretinoin for Acne Treatments. • Hyperpigmentation, age spots, and Melasma – we offer a variety of options for the treatment of hyperpigmentation, age spots, and melasma (a hormonally driven pigment disorder common in mediterranean skin types, pregnant women and women on hormones). These options include topical non-prescription skincare, prescription skincare, BBL and lasers (depending on the concern). Consultations are complimentary.
  • Perioral Dermatitis – Perioral dermatitis is a skin condition that causes a red, bumpy rash around the mouth. It might look like acne or small pimples and can sometimes spread to the nose and eyes. The skin may feel itchy, dry, or slightly burning. It’s often triggered by things like using steroid creams, heavy makeup, certain skincare products, fluoridated toothpaste and even hormonal changes. Stopping the use of irritating products and sometimes using prescription creams or medications can help clear it up. It just takes a little patience because it may take a few weeks to improve. Antibiotics help. You may require an antibiotic to clear this up.  Consultations requiring Prescription Treatment by the Physician Assistant are $50 (cash pay, we do not accept insurance).
  • Cold Sores – Cold sores are common, with approx 50-80% of adults carrying the HSV-1 virus (the virus that causes cold sores), although they may not all experience symptoms of cold sores.  Many have been exposed, carry the virus, and have no idea. If you are having an ablative/resurfacing laser, you will be treated with an antiviral medication such as Valtrex (valacyclovir) to prevent the occurrence of a cold sore starting 1 day prior and continuing 7 days after your laser treatment. This is mandatory. When patients have other treatments such as microneedling, injectables anywhere near the mouth and have ever had a cold sore in the past, it is recommended they are treated prophylactically (for prevention of eruption) as well. Please tell your provider, and we will be happy to send a prescription to your pharmacy of choice for this at no additional cost.
